Yellowknife to Hay River
This "quick run" takes you end-to-end of Great Slave Lake shoreline which is home to half of the population and host to many cool communities. It's the second largest lake entirely within Canadian borders, the fifth largest in North America, and the tenth largest in the world.  Take a moment or two and enjoy McNallie Creek, quite a lovely place for a break and camping. You get ribbons of road, void of traffic that usher you through vast landscapes with scenic boreal forests, breathtaking waterfalls, mountains, plains and valleys. Find countless places to camp, fish, view wildlife, canoe, pick berries, take a photo or a hike. Just remember to watch for fuel stops and plan accordingly!

1000 Mile

Fort Smith to Yellowknife
This overnighter from Fort Smith to Yellowknife and back should be a wonderful journey. It's hectares of beauty, blessed with all new pavement only a couple of years ago. The Yellowknife capital is a bustling centre with shops, restaurants, museums and more. Meanwhile, for nature-oriented, go North along Highway 4 to The Ingraham Trail and campground. This park is on the cusp of the hinterland. Indeed, if you were to walk North from the campground, you wouldn’t cross a single road clear to the Arctic Ocean! Check the NWT Parks website to book campsites  https://www.facebook.com/nwtparks/

Great White North: Yellowknife to Kamloops Loop

This is a five-day Great White North loop from Yellowknife to Kamloops. While this road is absolute madness in winter (do not attempt when roads are icey!) it's an adventure to behold in the summer. You will travel through some of the most exhilarating scenery, all the way down to Kamloops then up the backside into Prince George and return to where you started. Before you head out make sure to load all your maps using the ESR app and be ready for an on and off GPS fix. You should take a print out  / Maps just in-case you lose your signal completely. There is limited cellphone coverage here as well. Truly a great adventure.
